Renewable Natural Gas

Renewable natural gas (RNG)* is a term used to describe biogas that has been upgraded for use in place of fossil natural gas.

We use industry leading technology to capture and filter out methane gas at landfill waste sites and convert it to RNG. We are then able to utilize the the RNG to help power the electric grid and generate enough energy to sustain thousands of homes.

Wind

Wind turbines work on a simple principle: instead of using electricity to make wind—like a fan—wind turbines use wind to make electricity. Wind turns the propeller-like blades of a turbine around a rotor, which spins a generator, which creates electricity.

Solar

The amount of sunlight that strikes the earth's surface in an hour and a half is enough to handle the entire world's energy consumption for a full year. Solar technologies convert sunlight into electrical energy either through photovoltaic (PV) panels or through mirrors that concentrate solar radiation. This energy can be used to generate electricity or be stored in batteries or thermal storage.

Pellet Fuel

Wood pellets are compressed wood particles that are used as fuel. Pellets are already commonly used in some areas of the country, but they are growing in popularity as the cost of primary fuels increases and concerns about global climate change build. This fact sheet is a short introduction to wood pellets and will be helpful to those who are interested in using or producing wood pellet fuel. The advantages of wood pellets and how pellets are made and used are discussed.
